The Class B girls varsity team scores were: Maranacook of Readfield 26, Morse of Bath 71, Lincoln Academy of Newcastle 82, Winslow 98, Belfast 108, Erskine Academy of South China 132 and Oceanside and Medomak Valley no score. Mount Ararat finished second with the fourth, fifth, seventh, 17th and 22nd runners, a 21:37.06 average time and 1:48:05.30 overall time. Camden Hills finished with an average runner time of 21:07.72 and total time of 1:45:38.60. The Windjammers won as their five scoring runners finished first, second, sixth, 15th and 16th. The Class A girls varsity team scores were: Camden Hills 40, Mount Ararat of Topsham 55, Brunswick 129, Brewer 130, Cony 168, Bangor 178, Hampden Academy 184, Mount Blue of Farmington 188, Messalonskee of Oakland 200, Lewiston 209, Oxford Hills of South Paris 255 and Edward Little of Auburn 297. Thus, 528 overall runners started one of the four races. Ultimately, for the girls, there were 224 overall participants (a few did not finish races), including 87 in Class A, 60 in Class B and 77 jayvees, while there were 304 boys (a few did not finish races), including 95 in Class A, 69 in Class B and 140 jayvees. The Windjammers also did well in the girls jayvee race, led by first-place finisher Lauren Rothwell. There also were separate boys and girls junior varsity races over the 5-kilometer, or 3.1-mile course. Camden Hills, led by individual champion Grace Iltis and runner-up Augusta Stockman, competed in the Class A portion of the league meet, while Belfast, Medomak Valley and Oceanside runners participated in the Class B portion of the championships.Ĭlass A and B student-athletes competed in one boys and one girls race, then were separated by class to determine the individual and team results.
